We Love Free Movies
I built We Love Free Movies — a web archive that celebrates and showcases feature-length movies available to stream for free. The site aggregates films from platforms like YouTube and Vimeo and offers a curated viewing experience complete with thumbnails, descriptions, and video previews. The goal was to transform a basic spreadsheet of movie links into an engaging, community-driven destination for film lovers. Check it out here:
Celebrating Filmmakers
Filmmakers invest significant time and creativity in producing movies that are freely available online. However, the potential audience often struggles to navigate a cluttered list of films without context or visual aids. The challenge was to create an accessible, visually compelling experience that not only highlighted each film’s uniqueness but also connected users to broader film community platforms like Letterboxd.
Thumbnails, Descriptions, and Previews
A big spreadsheet of movies isn’t that interesting.
By leveraging custom thumbnails, descriptive text, and automatically generated previews for each movie, I built an interface that blends aesthetic appeal with functionality. The integration of Letterboxd links ensured users could dive deeper into discussions and reviews.
